‘Have we ever met before?’ – Talking to Silvia Gatti at andriesse-eyck gallery Art Rotterdam Projections

I first encountered Gatti’s practice while visiting the open studios at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam, where her work immediately stood out for its investigation of the evolving relationship between human experience and technology, merging poetic narratives, fragmented memory, and multisensory systems into dreamlike environments. Since then, I’ve continued to follow her work across studios, exhibitions, and festivals.

Focusing on recent works such as Preludio (2025/26) and Chiaro di Luna (2025), the article reflects on Gatti’s practice that embraces multisensorial realms in which every computational and poetic element feels intentional, alive, and fleeting. Her installations unfold as architectures of emotion, inviting the public to observe and listen from within.

As Gatti says, ‘after every encounter something changes irrevocably; we are never the same as before.’
