December 6, 2024

On December 6th, 2024, I was invited as a guest lecturer to present my work On Speaking Terms with Feminist Art Curating through a Global Perspective to first-year RMA Art History students.
Our discussions on feminisms, curatorial activism, and gender representations felt both timely and proactive, especially in relation to the exhibition Radical – Women Artists and Modernism 1910–1950 at Museum Arnhem (Sep 7, 2024 – Jan 5, 2025). Together, we critically examined the exhibition’s strengths and reflected on its missed opportunities, while imagining new agendas for feminist art curating.
Engaging with such brilliant minds was a powerful reminder of the importance of dialogue and collaboration in shaping curatorial practices. I look forward to continuing these conversations and exploring new ways to advocate for inclusivity in the art world and beyond.
How do you see art exhibitions evolving without falling into ‘check-boxing’ or ‘catch-up’ trends? Let’s keep the dialogue going!
